I've peeked at each of the soft synths that comes with Sonar 8.5. I like realistic sounds, and am not interested in "synthy" or "electronic" sounds (bleeps and bloops, arpeggiators, etc.) I'm now switching to soft synths, and am trying to figure out which soft synths are best for simulating the instruments used in real bands: rock, jazz, reggae, afrobeat, post-punk, etc. Which soft synths are best for which instruments (bass, drums, keys, etc.)?įor the past 10 years I've been using my hardware synth (Korg Triton) for all my sounds.
